    • Increased Gas Mileage
      • Used the first full tank of gas since fixing the leaking carb
      • Increased gas mileage by almost 5 miles per gallon


  • April 27, 2008 - 11768 miles
    • Leaking Carb
      • While adjusting the idle I found a gas leak at the carb
      • When the gas pedal was pressed the diaphram leaked a little
      • Removed the carb, cleaned the diaphram, reinstalled and tightened the screws
      • Leak disappeared and the engine smelled better

    • Brake Adjustment
      • Brakes were feeling weak and stopping power reduced
      • Brake pedal travel was very long (almost to floor)
      • Removed wheels and adjusted stars
      • Brakes feel like new, plenty of stopping power, brake travel is reduced to normal

    • Oil Change
      • Castrol GTX 10W40 Conventional Oil
      • Purolator Oil Filter (L20252)


  • July 24, 2007 - 8941 miles
    • Fuel pump repair
      • Fuel pump outlet leaking slightly
      • Small tube at outlet was loose from pump
      • Slightly enlarged tube by stretching
      • Peened tube into pump
      • Leaking stopped and tube feels secure


  • July 14, 2007 - 8717 miles
    • Carb tune up (Solex 34 Pict 3)
      • Checked timing and valves
      • Adjusted idle and fuel mixture
      • Idles well and sounds better
    • Exhaust tune up
      • Checked and tightened bolts
      • Replaced a couple gaskets
      • No more backfires on deceleration
